This is a fascinating dive from the NY Times into the writer credits on Travis Scott’s Sicko Mode:

Written by Jonah Weiner as part of a larger article “The 25 Songs That Matter Right Now”, Sicko Mode is number 5 on the list (just in case the above link doesn’t take you to the correct sub-article).

The piece breaks down how and why the song credits 30 different artists and it has a beautiful visual timeline of the song and the timestamps at which each writer enters the fray.

It’s a very interesting look at how complex the DNA of songs (and particularly rap songs) can be.
